What do you think of Lourdes Castro-Ramirez as the new replacement for Ann Sewell? Do you think LACAHSA will uphold the spirit of LAMC § 41.71, the Residential Hotel Ordinance, or claim to have no recollection/responsibility? I asked them this question in public comment yesterday…
LACAHSA did not respond. It was the first time I’ve gotten to speak with them. My friends Ndindi on the Westside and Ava of Venice also spoke, as did a seasoned tenant organizer who is being bullied by a problem landlord in South Central, and Zach attended and streamed, leaving an ethics hearing where three House LA-related Conflicts of Interest appeared on the agenda, with one of them a LACAHSA commissioner and the other his nonprofit, SCANPH, for which he did not register as a lobbyist this year (it would have prevented him from being a commissioner), and the other was a ULA COC member

I think time will tell. Having said that, Ann Sewill's tenure sent the bar straight to the ninth circle of Hell. What did they say in response?
